Kitchener, ON

April 6th, Kitchener Ontario

Monday evening, April 6th, the City of Kitchener recognized theKitchener Hallman Rivershark Twins with a presentation at the citycouncil meeting.   Denise Keelan introduced the team to city council and outlined their accomplishments including the ISC World Championship this past August in Wisconsin.

Coach Larry Lynch acknowledged the accomplishment of the players, including the support of Jim Hallman and the assistance of the many volunteers who made the R-Twins success possible.

"Last year when the Twinsand Orillia joined forces we put together an incredible season, topped off with the greatest club team prize in our game, the ISC World Championship. After 35 years of major men’s fastball Inever dreamed we would ever bring that title back to K-W. I am so proud of our achievement but it was not just what happened on the field that made us a champion. It wasthe work that each of you have done for us that kept our game alive. I truly do share this honour with each one of you."

Jim Hallman, sponsor of the Hallman Twins for many years, thanked the City of Kitchener for their grass roots support  of fastball over theyears, and  for their support and contribution to the  success of the three ISC World Championships held in Kitchener in 2002, 2006 and 2007. Jim  took a moment to thank the city for honouring his late brother Peter by naming Kitchener's premium ball park the Peter Hallman Ball Yard. Jim went on to thank the volunteers who make fastball possible in KW.

This year the Kitchener Hallman Rivershark Twins will be defending their ISC World Title in Quad City  Illinois, and planning a strong campaign for the Canadian championship as well.

Locally the Hallman Rivershark Twins will be hosting the Legends of Fastball June 5, 6 and 7 at Peter Hallman Ball Yard. They will beparticipating  in the Jarvis Gamblers tournament (june 26-28), the Monkton International Invitational on Canada Day weekend (July 2-5) , and the OASA senior championships in Waterloo's Hillside Park (July 31 - August 2).
