2009 Yakima Fruit Bowl Results
JRW & Associates Second in Fruit Bowl Tournament
YAKIMA, Wash. — Nine teams from around the Pacific Northwest, including three from Yakima — the Yakima Gamblers, the Night Hawks and JRW & Associates — played in the Yakima Fastpitch Softball Tournament at Kiwanis Park this past weekend.
Teams from Seattle, Lacey, Lynden and Spokane rounded out the field, including the powerful Outlaws (Lynden, WA)
Round-robin play started Saturday with multiple games at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Single-elimination play began Sunday at 8:00 AM, with the title game played at 2 p.m.
JRW and Associates lost 9-4 to the Lynden Outlaws in Sunday’s championship game of the Fruit Bowl Fastpitch tournament at Gateway Complex. Down 8-0, JRW rallied on two errors and four hits to score four runs. Then Lynden relieved with MVP Chad Barr who shut the door for the last 3 innings. The Yakima Gamblers took third place.
