With only 8 days remaining until the opening pitch, final preparations are under way in Monkton to welcome the world for the 6th edition of the World Fastball Invitational.
The town has been again been decorated and coloured with the traditional red and white - to signify our upcoming July 1 Canada Day celebrations, complete with flags adorning light posts along the 3 entrances to our little town.
As many of you know, this year is quite unique, in having many international teams touring the area leading up to the ISF's in Sakatoon un July, and thus, giving fastball fans their "fill" of the finest players and teams on the planet. We in Monkton are particularly excited to have the New Zealand National team join us for our event this year, possibly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only host them here, but for fans to see them in action.
We are also equally excited to be broadcasting live via radio and internet NEARLY ALL games from the tournament, thanks to our good friends at CKNX radio www.am920.ca and Jim Flanagan (and his crew) at www.fastpitchwest.com
A complete broadcast schedule will be posted in the coming days, as well as instructions on where to go and how to listen in via the internet.
