The huge tents at the ballpark are up!! - and thus marks the official countdown to the opening pitch in Monkton and the World Fastball Invitational 2009 edition.
As has become the tradition, the raising of the tent is just the beggining of a massive tranformation of the ballpark and arena complex leading up to the big event, and the army of volunteers that have now descended upon the grounds are scurrying about much like a busy anthill!
For those of you who will reply upon a GPS unit for directions to Monkton, I thought I would post them here, as it can be difficult to key into such devices.

Monkton - sad news...
As many of you know, the softball world was dealt a devastating blow with the news of Lloyd Poirier's sudden passing.
We had the pleasure of having Lloyd here at the World Fastball Invitational, and the priviledge of knowing him on and off the field. A true professional and gentleman on and off the diamond, the entire Executive at the World Fastball Invitational Inc. would like to pass along our sincere condolences to his family, and grant them peace and prayer in this very difficult time.
We will certainly have Lloyd in our thoughts over the next 5 days in Monkton.
