Aussie Steelers at Home in Milverton

Milverton is once again happyto be hosting the Aussie Steelers – Australia’s NationalMen’s Softball team. Members of the community have opened up theirhomes to our friends from down under as the team will be staying in Milvertonfor the week, as they prepare for the ISF World Championships inSaskatoon.
This will be a homecoming thefor the Aussie’s head coach Bob Harrow and his son Mike who plays on theNational team. Bob was actively involved in women’s softball as acoach for the Milverton Millwrights, Milverton Suns and Mil-Dor Twins and was acatalyst in getting minor ball started in Milverton.
The Aussies played the KWOutlaws on Monday, July 6 in a double header defeating the Outlaws 14 -0 and 8 -1. The schedule for the remainder of the tours is asfollows:

Sun. July12 1:00 pm vs. Bridgeport Braves in Milverton
The Steelers will put on aSoftball Skills Clinic on Saturday July 11 for young ball players in thearea. On Sunday July 12 at 1:00 pm at the Milverton Legion, there will bean informal reunion for everyone who has ever played, coached or been a fan ofball in Milverton. This will be an opportunity for everyone to celebrateMilverton’s long history of softball.
