TSN Kraft Sponsorship Consideration Elk Lake (Township of James) has a population of just over 400 people. Elk Lake is approximately 90 Kilometres from the closest town with recreational opportunities available. Currently some children must travel out of town in order to participate in recreational sports programs. In addition, they are also required pay a user fee. The Recreation Committee respectfully requests that the TSN Kraft Sponsorship program consider Elk Lake (Township of James) for their sponsorship program with a grant of $25,000 to help upgrade the baseball park. This would provide an opportunity for the local children to remain in Elk Lake to enjoy the use of the recreational facitilies. Elk Lake currently has 2 ball fields. A fence is required on one of the fields to control stray balls and ensure the safety of spectators. Two sets of bleachers are needed for each ball field to replace the old ones. A new announcer’s booth at field #1 must replace the dilapidated one currently in use. The announcer’s booth is the ‘hub’ of the activities at the ball park. At a later date, the Recreation Committee would like to erect a pavalion adjacent to the ball park
