Manitoulin Men's Fastball Playoffs
Wednesday night , the Wiki Lumberjacks took game two of their best of 5 semi finals 18 to 3 over the M'Cheeng Tribe . Before the game began , it was determined that in game one of this series thev Lumberjacks were using an eligible player who had not played the required number of games for the playoff run and the protest was upheld where instead of a 11-10 victory for Wiki on Tuesday night it became a 7-0 win for the Tribe evening up the series 1-1 . The winning pitcher was Jason Peltier while Warren Corbiere was tagged with the loss. Brent Assinewai hit a home run for the winners while Brenden Biederman reciprecated for M'Cheeng. The tyhird game in this series will be held at Wiki on Monday August the 10th , 7 PM. Game two in the best of 5 series between the Raiders of AOK Sucker Creek and the Gore Bay Merchants is on tonight in Gore Bay , 7 PM .The Raiders lead that series 1-0 by virtue of their 6-3 win in game 1.
We are 15 days away from the start of the 4th annual Brad Ringuette Northern Ontario Fastball Championships to be held in Sudbury and the arrival of our special guest ASA hall of famer Metro Szeryk .He as well as Brad will be honored and recognized in a special conference at City Hall.
