Day 3 & 4 Report of the NAFA AA World Series 

Results from day three and four of the NAFA AA World Series in Sioux Falls, SD taking place this weekend, August 13-16. All games are being played at Harmodon Park. The weather today was very wet with drizzle falling most of the day. Due to weather conditions, reports were not able to be reported on Saturday night.

There were two stoppages of play due to lighting in the immediate area, the first being at 8PM with games delayed for an hour. The second was later in the night with the only game in progress being suspended for the remainder of the night. However, Sunday's weather was beautiful and all games were completed.

The Sioux Falls Sox defeated the Bar on the Avenue in the first Championship game 10 – 0. Jim Hartmen was in the circle for the Sox against Todd Lubkeman of the Bar. Hartmen allowed only one hit in the seven innings with seven strikeouts. The Sox two in the second inning combining three hits including a double by Mike Mueller. They scored four more times in the fifth inning with Tim Hoover opening the inning with a home run. After two singles, Mike Mueller added a home run to extend the lead to 6-0. In the top of the seventh with Glen Nelson now in the circle for the Bar, the Sox had a runner on base when Mueller added a second double in the game and then Mike DeJong hit a three-run homerun. An out later, Travis DeJong added the fourth home run of the day to take a 10-0 lead.

In the “IFâ€Â game the Sox sent Jim Hartmen to the circle against Wayne Guara of the Bar. In the bottom of the first Zach Waene opened the inning with a home run and a quick 1-0 lead. The Sox tied the game in the top of the second on a double by Paul Skora driving in Bob Loshek who had walked to open the inning. The team both added a run in the sixth to remain tied and forced the game into extra innings. NAFA does not use the international tie breaker. The Bar on the Avenue was able to put a run on the board in the top of the tenth inning and Gura retired the Sox in order in the bottom of the inning for the complete game victory and championship.
