Owen Sound Considers Bid For 2010 Canadian Junior Men's Fastball Tournament

The Organizing Committee for the 2009 Canadian Junior Men's Fastball Championship Tournament in Owen Sound staged their wrap up meeting this week.
Tournament Chair Joanne Thompson relates the session was very positive and reflected a well run and successful event at Duncan McLellan Park.
The Canadian Junior Men's Tournament was conducted August 2nd to the 9th and featured 11 teams from across Canada, including the Owen Sound Brick Brothers Volkswagen Selects, competing for the National title.
Thompson states any areas of concern addressed at the meeting were somewhat minor and could easily be rectified, should Owen Sound be the host city & team in the
future.
She says the experience of hosting the Canadian Junior Men's Tournament in back to back years, certainly assisted the Organizing Committee this year..
Reports indicate that Owen Sound will bid again for the 2010 Junior Championship Tournament.
Thompson says those reports are a little premature.
She relates no other center has an existing bid for 2010, but the potential of Owen Sound bidding again is not a certainty at the moment.
In both 2008 & 2009, Owen Sound hosted the Championship Tournament in part because no other Canadian center made a bid to Softball Canada.
The Softball Canada bidding process for the 2010 Canadian Junior Men's Tournament runs to November of 2009.
