It's been a while since DeMo EHS posted news regarding European Fastpitch on the www but we're back.

 

DeMo EHS finished 3rd at the recent European Cup in Bagnaria, Italy behind winners Chomutov and runner up Tenerife.

With this post I would like to thank all 2009 Bulldogs for their energy, efforts and laughs. We played hardball and all of us enjoyed a very well organized tournament. Although the team is not build on individuals I still would like to thank them individually.

 

 

Rookie Hidde enjoyed his first European Cup experience and major tournament. Hidde was always there for the team and was always ready when needed. Great job rookie, you'll get better every game.

 

 

Dave had one of his best tournaments ever and had a very hot bat untill....15 minutes before the first semi final vs Ballerup Vandals. During warm up Dave torn his achillis muscle completely. Every Bulldog heard it snap on the practice field. You are a leader on the field DH and I'm sure you'll manage to get back because you have the right fighting spirit.

 

 

Good old Rien always steps up when we need him. His 3 run HR vs Spectrum Praha was a game breaker and got us in the finals. Great job oldtimer and make sure that "hammy" is in good shape for the Dutch play offs.

 

You've really grown in the tournament my friend. Always giving 100% effort and playing hard ball. The fact that we can always wake you up for a late night poker game is definitely a great asset!

 

 

My designated driver who always manages to get us in a traffic jam!! Great work at bat Mac and solid defence. You even played harder when you're brother got injured.. You were there when we needed you.

 

 

Solid defence Jeff and you've showed great speed at the bases and you'll be ready for the Holland Series. You're still one of the best talents we ever had in Holland and I'm sure you'll become a great pitcher aswell.

 

 

You stepped up in the final games making a fantastic play vs Tenerife at 2nd base. Take care of the batting hand and make sure you're ready for the remainder of the season because we need you.

 

 

Etienne is a true utility player and was used at several positions. Great work at the plate and his bat got hot at the right time. Buy some new cleats!!

 

 

Wes returned to DeMo EHS after playing several other teams in the past. Always a tough job being the fourth guy in the rotation but Wes was always there to put a smile on everybody's face. Great job Wes and I'm positive that you've enjoyed it!!

 

 

Anthony was cooking behind the dish for 8 games in over 40 degrees Celsius. Never giving up and always being there for his pitching crew. Great job kid!! You're getting better every game.

 

 

Seba was unlucky being injured after a few days but his spirit never died. Every game he told me he wanted to be there for the team even as a pinch runner. You have the true Bulldog spirit and you're a friend for life. We know we can always count on you!

 

 

Damien was one of our pick up players but after this tournament he is a real Dawg. A leader on and off the field always picking the team up in difficult games. You showed us the true spirit and a big thank you for joining us. I'm 100% sure you'll be wearing the Bulldogs jersey in the future again and you're always welcome. A true true leader!!

This kid was in one word amazing. First time in Europe, a very last minute call from us to have you over but you never dissappointed us. TC got the best batter and MVP awards but more important he was right there as a team member. Pitching all final games after Seba's injury, hitting over .600 and stealing 7 bases, what more can I say...this kid was ready to play. People back home might not belive this but during the tournament, he was the first one to go to bed and the first one to get up. A major assett to the team and I'm sure you'll be back to enjoy playing with us an enjoying the good life. Be ready to take a good look at this kid Eddy!!!

 

 

You were a big part of the team Cardy and always there to help the team. Always a positive note for everybody and I hope you will stay with us for many seasons. Do not underestimate how important you are for the team!!

 

 

My partner in crime. It was great having you back right beside me and I couldn't have done this without you. Now let's win the Dutch finals together and keep the Bulldogs going for many more seasons!

 

 

Arliene, Nicky, Krista, Anneke, Margot, Anja, Rody, Pernille, Pim, Conny and Mark. Being away from home more then 1.200km's and you gave us the feeling we were playing home games!!! Thanks all and keep giving us the support we need!!

 

That's a wrap Bulldogs. I had a great week and need to recover for another few days to get back in shape. We played hard, nobody backed off and we played as a team which was a great accomplishment!! Now win that title!!!
