Game 4 – Tuesday September 15th, 2009 – Veterans Field Rama
Udney Bullets 12 @ Rama Braves 4
The Bullets hit the field with a sweep in there mind and sent out pitcher Steve Jacobs to the mound and the Braves went to Kyle Ledrew to pitch in this must win game. The Braves started the scoring early with Darren Snake and Dave Stinson scoring to give Rama the early lead which only lasted until the 3rd inning when the Bullets scored 3 run from Drew Moore, Mike Hopkins and Jamie Heitzner. The next fame added to their lead with a 2 run RBI by Jamie Heitzner to make the score 5-2. The Braves rallied in the 6th inning with a 2 run homerun from Jeff Shilling to bring the score to 6-4 but in the top of the 7th inning the Bullets seen victory in grasp and took control with a 6 run outburst which was highlighted by a Mike Harvey 3 RBI double. With the score 12-4 the Bullets got that last 3 outs with a great catch by Matt Dykstra get the final out to capture the championship. Before this series very few would have predicted a sweep.. It is an astonishing feat especially against a strong Rama Braves team. This is the first championship sweep since 2004 when the Udney Bullets swept Brechin in a very low scoring series. With the 2009 season now over the Udney Bullets will now look to defend their title next year but in the mean time enjoy their time victors.
