Niagara Falls Finals

September 25, 2009

Niagara Falls, ON

Game one of the Niagara Falls Men's League best of 5 finals was last night between Storms Fury and Cool Hand Lukes. Fury's Scott Wagar and Lukes Mike Joseph were locked in a scoreless game when Lukes made the most of their chances as all three of their hits for the game came in succession in the top of the 4rth. Will Parent led off with a single, a Jeff Kranyuk bunt single would put runners on first and second, after an out Lukes Mark Hall deposited a three run homerun over the CF fence.
That would be all Joseph needed as he threw a tidy 4 hitter.

Games two and three go Wednesday and Thursday nights. NOTE start time has been changed to 6:30 pm.

In the T7, pinch hitter Tommy Watkinson leads off with a homerun to CF to tie the game setting the stage for B7 where Lukes walk off with the win. Leadoff hitter Will Parent gets things going with a single, an out later he is on third and the Fury decide to intentionally walk Tom Berube and Mark Hall to load the bases. With Pat McCloy at the plate and the Fury defense all in and with left fielder Adam Dearborn playing just behind second base, McCloy hits a fly ball just over the head of Dearborn that Dearborn catches spins and fires home but not in time to get the speedy Parent who slides in safely for the win.
