The Lake Simcoe Lightning will face the Aurora Shoeless Joes once again in the Oshawa City District Fastball League.
These two teams met up in the finals last year and are set to tangle once again.
Aurora Beat out Stouffville Mennos 2 games to none with Todd Martin Pitching back to back shutouts.
Aurora went on to face a very strong Scarborough Athletic team that saw Martin beat Grant Patterson 1-0 in a extra inning thriller. In game two Aurora held on to win 5-4 to send them to best 3 – 5 finals.
Lake Simcoe Beat Markham in the Quarter finals winning the first game 6-2 with Gregg Garrity on the mound. In game two Markham rebounded with a 5-4 win with Jeff Wilson toeing the rubber in an extra inning affair. Game three the Lightning pulled out a 2 -1 win winning the series and advancing to the semi finals.
Lake Simcoe met up with the Oshawa Ravens for the second straight year. The Ravens took game one with a 3-2 win. Game two saw the Lightning bounce back with a 2-1 win of their own with a Joey Moore walk off RBI Double. Game Three back in Oshawa saw more of the same With Gregg Garrity hitting a Seventh inning 2 run Home run Spoiling the Ravens 1-0 lead. Lightning went on to win the game and the series 2-1.
