After long discussion it has been finally decided that game four of the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League Championship Final series best of five affair between the defending and three time league champions the Dog House Sportsbar North Stars and the Pickerel River Cardinals will be held on Thursday night October the 1st in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park with a starting time of 7:30 PM . If we go by the predicted weather forcast , it should be a low crisp 3C or 35F on the old scale .Fans and friends of fastball which have grown to large numbers since the August tournaments should bring out thier mitts and even warm possibly Winter coats . This is not the latest date the league playoffs have ended . The last time another team won the league title one of this year's finalist the Pickerel River Cardinals ( in the full five games with a 3-2 victory over the same North Stars 0 it was on a Thursday night in Garson on October the 8th , 2007 .
Should the defending champs prevail on Thursday night to capture their second straight tiltle and their fourth in five years .Then five awards would ceremonially be presented on the ball field that being : the playoffs top pitcher ,top hitter , most sportsmanlike player , most valuable player , the banner and league championship trophy .
Our Public Relations Liaison/Advisor will also be there during the game to sell banquet tickets for those who would like to buy them now instead of waiting to pick them up at the door on October the 17th at the Royal Hotel in Garson ..
