CT in Eau Claire

June 26, 2006

Eau Claire, WI

June 23-25
Eau Claire, WI

The Circle Tap Fastpitch team ventured to Eau Claire for the 40th annual
Eau Claire Classic. The weather was nice Friday night and good portion of
Saturday and then the rains came. And it rained and rained and rained,
pretty much not stop. Our two games on Sunday were played in a constant
rain, highly uncomfortable for all. Stu Taylor and the EC people did a
good job of accomodating and commuicating the situation. The diamonds
took a tremendous amount of water but were still very much playable. The
CT team managed to go 2-2(12-11 overall). CT was without Mike Roberts,
Jeff Wartman, Matt Bramwell, and Bryan Hansen. A very big thank you goes
out to Adam Folkard for helping us out this weekend.

the story of the night. He got the ball and threw bullets. Rise ball
jumping and drop ball diving enroute to 16K's against a very potent Kegel
lineup. CT grabbed a lead in the top of the first on a solo blast by
Kevin Reichardt. Jess Ellestad and Chris Delarwelle drew walks to start
off the 3rd with walks and advanced on a stolen base and a couple passed
balls and scored on a couple fielder's choice ground outs. Ellestad led
off the 5th with a base hit and would later score on a Kyle Magnusson base
hit. In the 7th Chris Delarwelle drew another walk and Kyle Magnusson
followed with a two run shot.

reached as the throw went to 2nd and Derricks was ruled safe. Jess
Ellestad then walked. Kyle Magnusson stepped to the plate and with a 1-0
count the umpires ruled for rain delay. About 45 minutes later Magnusson
stepped back up to the plate and would eventually deliver a grand slam to
give CT a 5-0 lead. Chris Delarwelle followed with a double and with two
