The Monkton Annual World Fastball Invitational scheduled for July 1-4, 2010 has been put on hold.
We do not have the official word yet however the sad news was relayed to us unoficially until a press release can be made up.
The Monkton World Fastball Invitational committee has decided to skip holding the tournament in 2010.
This will be very sad news for the large number of fans and players who regard this tournament as the best weekend tournament going.

In discussions with Brian Baillie, Chair of the Monkton Tournament and he informed me he is going back to his committee recommending that they give the tourament a few more days to find the 8 quality teams they need for the 2010 tournament.
At the moment, Monkton have 4 great teams signed up and two more in final discussions. They need 2-3 more quality teams to round out the 8-team tournament.
Each year, there are always a few good teams who do not make the cut and that is a hard decision to make, but Monkton strive to put the best 8 available teams on the field for this great tournament year after year.
Here is an opportunity for a team looking to enter into this tournament to step up and take a shot at it.
We did not discuss cut off dates, but time is of the essence, so if interested, please contact Brian Baillie this week at theace012@hotmail.comOnce the 8-team field is finalized there may be a few hurdles left, such as finding a few more sponsors for their annual program and other events wrapped up in the annual Monkton World Fastball Invitational.
Those fans and others with interest in becoming a sponsor, please contact Brian and/or feel free to send him tips on possible sponsors as well.

I have been told now by two members of the Monkton organizing committee that it looks bad for this year.
They will be sending us an official press release soon.
The news is not good for 2010.
