Earl Rice, Level V Fast Pitch Umpire

I am sure most of you know or have heard of Earl Rice, a Level V Fast Pitch umpire from Saint John New Brunswick. Earl has been a loyal and valued member of our fraternity since the early ‘80s. Unfortunately, earlier this week, early was diagnosed with a brain tumour and is scheduled for surgery on Monday. On top of that, yesterday the doctors discovered an aneurism in the brain as well. This will be a very serious operation however Earl is in good spirits. He is currently is hospital but is hoping to go home for the weekend. Earl needs our prayers and positive thoughts. For those that do know Earl, he would love to hear from you, even if it is just to say “Hi, wish you well”. Your support for him in this time crisis would be greatly appreciated. Leslie, Earl’s wife, said she would print off and take any e-mail messages to Earl while he is in the hospital.
