Oshawa City and District 82 season underway.

Goodbyes:
After many years in the OCDFL the Markham Majors have called the 2009 season their last. We are sorry to see them go and will miss our trips to Markham. Fortunately most of the fellas have found places to play with other teams in the loop. Thanks to Shelly Gram for keeping it alive all these years. Thanks also the tried and true 7 that probably missed a handful of games over all that time.
The Newmarket Stingers will not return as a league team as well. The boys having moved around with growing adult responsibilities could not commit to league play. Since starting with us as a Minor Midget team the boys have grown both in softball and as people. The team will stay together as a travel team and continue to compete in Ontario. Congrats on your effort every year to complete your league obligations and to play way past the Elimination and Provincial OASA tournaments.

The Oshawa Ravens, piloted smoothly through the choppy waters of OCDFL by Jim Trimm, have also called it quits. The Ravens were golden in their compete level in the league and leave behind a trophy case full of awards and championship years. Well done Trimmy, enjoy your new fastball challenge. Some members of the team have no doubt found homes within the league. A class act team that will be greatly missed.

Hellos: (not even sure that’s a word)
Mal Swift returns to coach ‘The My Three Sons’ team as J.C., Matt and Ryan continue to excel at the fastball game. The Bombers with some new faces along with Mal expect to have a successful second season. Welcome back Mal, enjoy.

The Oshawa Rebels, thanks for the jersey loan Spark, will begin their first season in the league. The team is comprised of several just recently graduated Double B JR players and several who have competed as a double B player in the past. Joining them are a few of the senior Ravens players. They are looking forward to competing in the tough Oshawa City and District League
Paul Koert and the Jones Pools company have hooked up to field a second Stouffville team along with the ever present Mennos. Jones Pools have been a significant sponsor of teams in that area and we are grateful they have rejoined our league. ‘Koerty’ moved home (Stouffville that is and not Moms) and has worked tirelessly to put another team into the league. Best of luck to them
To all the new coaches, players and sponsors welcome and enjoy. To all you returners the same wishes.

Have a Great summer 2010
