Walcott Hosts Memorial Weekend
Men’s Fastpitch Tournament
May 28-30, 2010
Walcott - 10 teams from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin are entered in the Memorial weekend men’s fastpitch tournament set to begin Friday night, May 28th.
Play begins at 6:00 PM at both Victory and Wescott parks. Games continue at both parks on Saturday, May 29th at 11:00 AM. On Sunday, May 30th, play begins at 11:00 AM with the last game slated for 3:00 PM at Wescott.
Teams entered include: Quad City Titans, Bettendorf; Aledo, Il Merchants, Dolan/Murphy Shamrocks from Aurora, Illinois, Winterset A’s from Winterset, Iowa, the Bar of Appleton, WI, the Iowa Cocks from Ottumwa, New Image from Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, Ramsey Financial from Bowen, IL the Stadium Club from Davenport and the LampLiter Inn from Walcott.
In the May 18th International Softball Congress, (ISC), team rankings, the Bar of Appleton is rated 12th, Dolan and Murphy is 15th and the Winterset A’s are 25th. The winner of the Memorial Weekend Tournament qualifies for the ISC World tournament at Midland, Michigan, August 13 -21.
A tournament pass for the Memorial Weekend tournament in Walcott sells for $7.00, while $3.00 is the charge per session. Under 16 are admitted free of charge. A variety of food, (including the famous butterfly pork shop sandwich), and beverages are available at the concession stand. Plan to visit Walcott to enjoy quality fastpitch softball.
