After two weeks into the regular season , the league defending champions , the Sudbury North Stars remain undefeated and in first place at 3 and 0 . Strong pitching from veteran Jordan "Swede " Dalvick (2009 league's top pitcher) [1-0] and new comer from the 2009 Athletics John Ainsley [2-0] combined with sophomore short stop Steve Sabourin ' 6 for 6 and 4 runs batted in has helped the team to a excellent start for 2010. The veteran Cardinals of  Pickerel River have struggled out of the box to start the 2010 season losing all three of their contests but their pitcher Jonathan Contin is on a tear since the start hitting at a hot clip of 9 for 10 . Hopefully his offensive attack will influence the rest of his teammates as they struggle in a slump for 2010.

                                                In their only game played this year so far the Garson Hounds easily disposed in five innings of the Cardinals by the score of 8-0  . Eric Abitong (1-0) went all the way scattering 5 hits and fanning 3 Cardinals .Veteran Doug Foley lead the way for the Hounds at the plate hitting a perfect 3 for 3  (double,tripple,2 runs 4 runs batted in ) .Teammate Robbie Edwards chipped in with a 2 for 3 performance(run scored , 2 run homer).Jonathan Contin going all the way suffered his (0-3) third loss of the season but went 2 for 2 (double) in a losing cause for the Cardinals.

                                                Play resumes with a single game this evening at the Rick McDonald Memorial Park in Azilda when the  both undefeated veteran teams the Garson Hounds (1-0) and first place Sudbury North Stars (3-0) face each other.
