Game 2 just complete with the Bar of Appleton defeating Kelso Fastpitch 7-0 in 6 innings.

Herald & Review Shootout Saturday Afternoon 

After a torrential downpour on Friday night the groundscrew had the field ready to play with only about a 90 minute delay. Beautiful but hot weather today here in Decatur.

Aurora leads Pete's Blues 4-0 currently in the 4th inning on the Duncan Diamond.




Play completed around 1am at Borg Warner Field. In the final game of the night the Bar of Appleton defeated the Decatur Pride 2-1 on a Pat Humphreys double in the bottom of the 7th. Andrew Blackshaw outdueled Brent Stevenson for the win. The Pride's Ty Morganthaler and BOA's Josh Johnson both homered for the only other scoring.

Earlier Aurora defeated the Marshall Lightning 2-0. Jetmar over Sean Kelly in this one. Jim Pecararo's 6th inning home run provided the game winner.
Playoffs begin at 8am with Decatur (A2) taking on the Marshall Lightning (B3) and Belleville (B2) playing Kelso (A3). 10am games will have The Bar of Appleton (A1) against Pete's Blues (B4) and Aurora (B1) against Log Cabin (A4).

A correction to an earlier reported score. Bar of Appleton defeated Log Cabin 4-2, not 3-2.




Bar of Appleton wins Herald & Review Shootout 

 The Bar of Appleton and the Decatur Pride advanced through the heat
and the playoff brackets that began early Sunday morning to meet in
the final of the 2010 Herald & Review Shootout. In the Championship
Game, The Bar defeated the Pride 6-0. The Bar broke open a 1-0 game
in the 5th with 5 runs off Pride starter Jim Hartman. Andrew
Blackshaw was the winner in the circle going the distance for The Bar
of Appleton.

The Bar of Appleton advanced to the final by defeating Villa Grove
Log Cabin and the Belleville Stallions, both in mercy rule games.
Decatur advanced with wins over the Marshall Lightning and Aurora
Dolan & Murphy.

Andrew Blackshaw was named the Most Valuable Pitcher and Josh Johnson
of the Bar of Appleton was named the Most Valuable Player in the
tournament.
