LINWOOD CHIEFS JUNIOR MEN’S FASTBALL TEAM QUALIFIES FOR CANADIAN NATIONALS
On the weekend of July 9th-11th at the Ontario Junior Men's Elimination's in Cobourg, Ontaio., your local Junior Men's fastball team won a berth in the Canadian Fastball Championships (http://2010juniormenssoftball.ca) to be held in St. Croix Nova Scotia August 2-8, 2010. Your Linwood team finished 3rd in the tournament out of 15 teams to qualify. The Chiefs earned their spot at the Canadian championships in an exciting extra innings game, with a 7-6 victory over Oshawa.

WE NEED YOUR HELP, as there is very little time to raise the needed $20,000 to cover the costs for transportation, lodging and a second set of uniforms. Any monetary help or donations will greatly help meet our goal. A fundraising spaghetti dinner, pie auction, & silent auction is being planned for Thursday July 22th at the Linwood Community Centre. Any pie donations, or items for a silent auction would also be greatly appreciated. The team is also organizing a bottle drive for Saturday July 17th, for Linwood, Wellesley, St. Clements, Millbank & Milverton. Corporate Sponsors will receive a team plaque recognizing your contribution for display in your office.
