 PERRY ISLAND HAWKS SPLIT TWO GAMES
 
                               Last week the Hawks spit two games . In the first one , they took a 5-4 lead into the fourth and held on for a 8-6 victory . Matty Tobobundung (4-2) picked up his 4th victory of the season giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 4 hits while striking 2 and issuing four base on balls . Al Guenette (1-3) suffered his third loss of the season giving up 7 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 2 batters and issuing only one base on balls . Danny Nootchtai (0=1) took over in the 5th inning giving up one run (unearned) , 2 hits and no base on balls were issued . Craig Brown led the way for the Hawks going 2 for 3 (home run ,two runs scored ,2 runs batted in )with teammates Walter Sr Tobobungung and Matty Tobobungung also both hitting 2 for 3 .Misadice Rice (two triples , two runs scored  , one run batted in )_ hit 2 for 3 in a losing cause for the Whitefish Lake Steelers .
                               Later in the week , the second place Garson Hounds pounded 11 hits on their way to a 8-5 victory over the Hawks . Eric "E-man" Abitong (2-0) in only his second appearance of the season came up with his second victory giving up 5 runs (3 earned ) on 6 hits while striking out 7 batters and issuing one base on balls Gary Lamothe took over in the fifth to strike out the side and end the game (time limit) .Matty Tobobungung (4-3)_ went all the way for the Hawks in suffering his 5th defeat of the season giving up 8 runs ( 7 earned) on 11 hits while striking 2 opponents and issuing 2 base on balls .Corey Farmer and Bryan each led the way for the Garson Hounds both hitting 3 for 3 while Jim Pawis hit 2 for 2 in as losing cause for the Hawks.
                                Play will resume Monday night at 7 PM when the Garson Hounds take on the first place Sudbury North Stars . The 9 PM game has been cancelled and will be played at a later date.
