Kiwis team take it down to the wire at Friendship Series
Wednesday July 5th 2006

It has been a tough day on the diamond today for the New Zealand under 19Men’s Development team at the Friendship Series in Sydney, Australia.

Going into day four of the tournament today the Kiwi team were at the topof the points table and looked to have a place in the series finalsecured. However a record of two losses and one win today has meantthings will go down to the wire tomorrow in the final round robingames.

Results today saw the Kiwi team defeated by Australia Green 5-4 andAustralia Gold 7-3 before the New Zealander’s struck back with a 7-2victory over Titans.

While not all the results have gone the way of the New Zealand team todaythere have been some strong individual performances. The most notablecoming from Jovaan Hanley of Hawkes Bay who smashed a huge home runagainst Australia Green and then added another against Titans. Alsohitting the ball over the fence against Titans was Ben Enoka ofAuckland.

Given the results today New Zealand are now in the situation of having towin their final round robin game against New South Wales Metro at 1pm (NZtime) before a runs against formula will be put into action to decide whowill play in the 3pm (NZ time) final.
