                     HAWKS WIN ! HAWKS WIN !
 
                                         The Parry Island Hawks took an early 7-0 lead and seemed well on their way to  an easy victory but in the middle frames off key hits and costly errors , the young Steelers of Whitefish made a comeback and the score was now 8-5 after four frames . The Steelers score three more runs and when the Hawks come to bat in the bottom of the 6th inning its an 8-8 tie ball game .In their half of the sixth Parry Island score three and hold on for a 11-8 victory and the best of three series 2-1 .Matt Tobobondung (4-0) goes the distance in picking up his fourth victory of the playoffs  giving up 8 runs (6 were earned) on 12 base hits while striking out 7 batters and not issuing a single base on balls . Chris Doxtator veteran pitcher started for the Steelers but gave way to Al Guenette in the third and once more gave to Doxtator in the sixth ..Guenette suffered the loss .Both pitchers combined to give up 11 runs on 11 hits while striking out 4 and not issuing any base on balls ..       
                                         Jim Pawis led the Hawks hitting parade going a perfect 3 for 3 (triple ,two runs scored ) while teammates Walter Jr Tobobondung( three runs scored) and Craig Brown( three runs scored , 2 RBI's)  both hit 3 for 4 .Matt Tobobondung also hit a 3 run shot to deep centre field for the winners .. Angelo Anselmo hit 3 for 3 (double , triple , 2 RBI's) in a losing cause for Whitefish .
                                          Now the Parry Island Hawks move to play the Sudbury North Stars in the best of five championship finals starting tonight in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park .Game time is set for 9 PM as all games will start at this time .
 
Parry Island Fastball Tournament
 
                                           The deadline for entry into the 3rd Annual Parry Island Fastball Tournament is fast approaching being 6 days away after being delayed yesterday ..There will be three divisions : ladies , masters and men's open . There is a correction for the masters . You may play if you are 35 and over but you must be 40 or better to pitch . Players 35 and over may play in both the masters and the open but can only pitch in one of them . The deadline as mentioned yesterday is extended to Wednesday September the 8th but I must have your commitment by email that you are in .Those who commit will receive by the end of this week a roster sheet to fill in which you must turn in prior to your first game and you will also receive a set of tournament rules .This tournament will have a beer garden and a dance on Saturday evening .
                           
 
24th Senior Men's Worlds
 
                                             Don't forget the 24th Annual Senior Men's Worlds Fastball Tournament this coming Labor Day weekend in North Bay .
