Bracebridge Mens Fastball League Results
Bracebridge Men's Fastball League action wrapped up on Thursday as game two's of both A and B Division finals were completed.
The A division final seen Muskoka Rural Electric break open tight game, with a 3 run homer by Tony Peacock, only to have a scrappy squad from Griffin crawl back to tie at 4. The Lightning then squeezed a go ahead run across in bottom of 6th, then held off Griffin to take the A division final in 2 straight games. Tony Peacock was playoff MVP, for his sterling performance in 2010 playoffs going 6-1, and hitting 2 homers.
The B Division final seen Jim Courtney and Lizotte Fuels attempt to take out Black Dog Farm and Ted Conway, in 2 straight games. This was a see saw affair that seen Black Dog jump out to a early 5-1 lead. Lizotte's offense, with their never say die attitude, crawled back against the Farm from 5-1, and 9-4 deficits, on timely hitting, with Barry Hammond being the catalyst with a 2 run homer, and Ryan Hutson knocking in Dave Veitch with the go ahead run in top 7th, then Lizotte's plating 3 more for insurance in their last at bat. Courtney, and the Pirates then held off Black Dog in the bottom half of 7th, to preserve their clinching series win in 2 straight. Jim Courtney received MVP award for his playoff effort in 3 wins and two homers.
