Tazco repeats as NF playoff champs. Tazco beat the Niagara Fury 4-2 last night to capture the 2010 Niagara Falls League playoff championship. Tazco's Tom Berube up against the Fury's Scott Wagar and the Fury would jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Rob Greatrix leads the game off by reaching on an error and is promptly sacrificed to second by Phil John. Mark Korten follows with an RBI triple and the Fury lead 1-0. They extend the lead in the fourth when Adam Dearborn deposits a Berube pitch over the left field fence to give the Fury the 2-0 lead. Wagar is cruising until the top of the fifth when with two out Tazco rally's. Tazco did most of their damage in this series with two outs. Mike Joseph and Jeff Kraneyk each single and Mark Hall cashes a run with a single of his own. Berube helps his own cause and ties the game with a single. Still with two outs a ball gets to the backstop and the Tazco runner scores and when the Fury try to get the runner at the plate the ball gets by everyone and rolls towards the mound and Berube scores easily. With the score 4-2 the Fury cannot push any more runs across and Tazco repeats as playoff champions. The League would like to congratulate Tazco on their win and thank both teams for a well played exciting finale. The last order of business for 2010 will be the leagues annual year end banquet on October 17th and I will update the award recipients and provide a league wrap up.
