New Zealand one win away from taking series

A series victory over the Australians is tantalising close for the NewZealand Junior Men’s Development in Sydney flowing the second day of thegames today.

There were three games played today between the Kiwis and the Australianunder 19 team with the New Zealanders picking up one win and the Aussiestwo. The results today see the Kiwi team lead the series 3-2 with thefinal two games to be played tomorrow.

New Zealand won the second game played today in convincing fashion 7-3however they also had two very narrow losses going down in the openinggame today 4-3 and in the last match up of the day 9-8.

Game one today went right down to the wire with Australia securing thewinning run in the bottom of the seventh inning courtesy of a home run.

While there may have been two losses today a series victory against theAustralian under 19 team is still within reach. The final two games ofthe series will be played tomorrow at 11.30am (NZ time) and 2pm (NZ time)from those games New Zealand needs just one win to claim the series.

Junior White Sox

In Vancouver, Canada the Junior White Sox have also been on the softballdiamond today representing New Zealand competing in the Canada CupFutures tournament.

Today was the first day of the championship round and the New Zealandteam opened the day with a narrow 3-1 loss against Georgia Challengersbefore bouncing back with a 10-7 win over Colorado Pony Express.

The victory today over Colorado Pony Express keeps New Zealand’s chancesin the tournament alive and they will move on to play Delta Heat Boily at4am (NZ time) tomorrow.

New Zealand are now in the must win situation in the tournament and haveto keep winning to remain in the championship race.
