Softball Ontario Launches FREE Templates for Ontario Softball Associations
TORONTO, ONTARIO – Softball Ontario is happy to announce the launch of free templates for Softball Associations across Ontario.  Your Association can modify and adopt the templates to help you improve your governance, increase your registrations, and better promote your organization.  The new templates will also help your Softball Association to work towards becoming a “SAFE Star Rated” Softball Association with Softball Ontario.

"Softball Ontario recognizes that Softball Associations occasionally need assistance in the technical and administrative areas of running a not-for-profit organization," said Rory Quigley, Chairman of Softball Ontario's Participation Committee.

The templates provided by Softball Ontario include a Constitution, By-Laws, Codes of Conduct, a Privacy Policy, a Volunteer Screening Policy, and much more!  Softball Ontario has compiled eighteen (18) new Templates to go along with the sixteen (16) Best Practices posted last month, and made them available on the Softball Ontario web site (www.softballontario.ca) and the Play Softball web site (www.playsoftball.ca).

The new free Templates are a part of Softball Ontario’s Softball Association Fundamental Excellence (SAFE) Star Rating Program, which recognizes quality Softball Associations who implement best practices in the four (4) Pillars of Excellence: Organizational Development, Volunteer Development, Long Term Player Development, and Softball Ontario Participation.  By utilizing the free resources and adopting the best practices within their organization, Softball Associations will be able to become a “SAFE Star Rated” Softball Association.

What are the benefits of becoming a “SAFE Star Rated” Softball Association?
  • Earning a SAFE Star Rating demonstrates your Association’s Commitment to Organizational Quality
    • Softball Associations who receive a SAFE Star Rating have met standards in four (4) areas of focus, called the Pillars of Excellence. The four categories include:
      • Organizational Development
      • Volunteer Development
      • Long Term Player Development
      • Softball Ontario Participation

  • Softball Associations who apply for their SAFE Star Ratings will receive preferred access to the next round of S.A.F.E. Awards - $10,000 in Awards are available
    • Twenty (20) S.A.F.E. Awards of $500 each are available to help you train your volunteers for the 2011 Softball Season, including:
      • 5 Awards for Community Coach Development
      • 5 Awards for Competitive Coach Development
      • 5 Awards for Umpire Development
      • 5 Awards for Volunteer Development

  • Promotion from Softball Ontario
    • Each Softball Association who receives a SAFE Star Rating will be promoted by Softball Ontario in the following ways:
      • Free promotional materials from Softball Ontario for your 2011 registration season, recognizing your softball association as a ‘SAFE Star Rated Association’
      • News Release promoting the receipt of the SAFE Star Rating
      • Media Advisory informing local media of your official SAFE Star Presentation from Softball Ontario
