Midland Explorers news

Midland, MI

Following the completion of the 2010 season, there were plenty of rumors about the future of the Explorers. The team and Booster Club have been in place for 25 years, and culminating that time frame with the 2010 ISC World Tournament would have been an appropriate place to end the program.

However, the success of the tournament, the excitement of teams coming to Emerson Park, the support of the community, and the possibility of a future ISC tournament in Midland has led us to continue the program in 2011.

We have two additions to announce at this time, with more news about personnel and schedule to follow.

Catcher Mark Arsenault has played for the PEI Charlottetown Fawcetts for years, and will be making his ISC debut in 2011.  A veteran of many Canadian National Championship tournaments, Mark was one of the organizers of last years Senior Mens Championship on PEI.

After two seasons with the Kitchener Rivershark Twins, pitcher Grant Patterson returns to the Explorers. A stint with the Canadian National team in 2008 and an ISC championship with the Twins in 2009 has moved Grant into elite status among today's pitchers.

We will be hosting our annual tournament again in 2011 on the June 17th weekend. More details on that will follow within the next week or so.
