It is with great sadness that I share with you that my Dad, John Angus Sharpe, passed away yesterday evening (February 16, 2011), peacefully with family by his side.  Dad had been battling dementia for the past few years and finally succumbed to it.  My family, mom Maureen, wife Deanna, daughters Allie and Paige, sister Jennifer, brother in law Carl, and their sons Liam and Joshua, are all devastated by this loss, but we are coping.  We all love him dearly and miss him greatly.  Dad was involved with Fastball in Oshawa for over 20 years.  Most notably has the Head Coach of the Oshawa Double B Jr. teams of the mid 90's that went to 3 National Championships, earning 2 silver medals.  He was the co-founder of Oshawa Minor Fastball, and spent years as the chair of the house league system (NASC) that at one time boasted over 4,000 children playing ball in Oshawa.  He coached both boys and girls programs and was a true fan of the sport at every level.
