Box Scores from XII Argentine National Championships in Parana

The second and final weekend of the XII Argentine is underway in
Parana, Argentina with games Friday, March 4 through Wednesday,
March8, 2011. Last weekend, competition in the “Ascenso” (“B”)
division was held, along with the “Promocion” (“C”) Division.
This weekend will see competition in the other two divisions,
Campeonato (Division A) and Estimulo: (Division D).

Courtesy of our friend in Argentina, Cristian Lacout (aka “Softbol
Radio”) are the box scores from this weekend’s XII Argentine
Championships being played in Parana, Argentina, (a couple of hours
from Buenos Aires). Parana is the hotbed for men’s fastpitch in
Argentina, with the majority of players from their National team
hailing from the area. It will also be host to the 2012 ISF Junior
Men’s World Championship.

The game of the weekend so far appears to be Game 5, with Estudiantes
coming away with an 8 inning, 4-3 win over CPEF. The game featured a
duel between two of Argentina's best pitchers, Juan Potlicchio and
Sebastian Gervasutti, with each surrendering 6 hits. Potlicchio went
the distance, striking out 15 for the win.

Great work, Cristian, thanks for bringing the games to life for us who
cannot be in Parana. As many fastball fans know, Parana, Argentina is
the hotbed for men's fastpitch in Argentina, with many of the members
of Argentina's National team hailing from the area.

Parana will be the host of the 2012 ISF Junior Men's World Championships.
