Lackawanna, NY - Notti Perez's Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd inning would be enough to give Elkland a 6-0 lead enroute to a 6-2 win over the Ashland Merchants in the championship game of the 2006 1st Annual Mickey Brennan Memorial Tournament in Lackawanna, NY.

All of Elkland's offense was scored on homeruns in the game, as Elkland 2nd baseman Bryan Miller started the game off with a 2-run homerun, plating both him and Perez who had doubled to start the game. Perez would finish the game 2-4, while Elkland designated hitter Ryan Would would also have a multi hit game, finshing the game 2-3.

Elkland put the game into the steady hands of pitcher Hugh Hillhouse for the championship game, and Hillhouse delivered. Aside from allowing a 2-run homerun in the 6th inning, Hillhouse(7-2) would be in control in the game, allowing 7 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6.

Elkland improves to 11-3 on the season, and goes 4-0 in tournament play. This is Elkland's 3rd tournament championship of the season, and their 7th tournament championship in the last 2 combined seasons. Elkland will head to Dunkirk this weekend for the Falcon Classic, their 5th tournament of the season.
