Legends of Fastball Classic Weekend - games on Schedule Fri Eve

June 24, 2011

Kitchener, ON

Good afternoon everyone,

Several tournament committee members met with City staff and as of now all three diamonds are playable at Peter Hallman Ballyard.  Weather radar shows a cell coming in this afternoon but accumulations are only forecast to be a millimeter or so.  If the diamonds can hold this amount of water remains to be determined.

As of now, all games scheduled for Friday night are a go.  A reassessment will be made around 4:00 PM.  at which time we will update our Friday night plan if need be.  We will again communicate by e-mail to all the status of the event. We will endevour to advise teams that are travelling a significant distance of what's going on before they leave (by e-mail and telephone), more local teams may be asked to prepare to play even if conditions are 50/50.

We have diamonds booked for Saturday to make up Thursday night's rain outs and several versions of revised schedules have been drafted depending on what tonight brings.  We will update teams late tonight or early Saturday, as no version requires anyone to come before their scheduled first game on Saturday.  Again, as always, this is subject to change dependant on Mother Nature.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we try to deal with the unknowns we are facing for the next 12 or so (I hope) hours.
