The NY Swashbucklers went 3-0 in Round Robin play, before defeating the Bedford Merchants in the Semifinals 10-0 (no-hitter by Kenton Martin) and winning a classic 6-3 in extra innings against the PA Power to take the title. In the championship game, down to their last out and last strike in the top of the 7^th, John Shreiber blasted a game-tying solo homerun to knot the score at 3-all. After stranding PA Power runners at 2^nd and 3^rd in the bottom of the 7^th, the Swashbucklers opened up the game with 3 runs in the top of the 8^th, 2 coming on a two-run triple by Mike Conigliaro. Martin shut down the Power in the bottom half of the inning, sealing the tournament for the Swash.

 

The Swashbucklers continue their season this weekend in Boston at the Ray Macone Memorial Open Fast Pitch Invitational and have two weeks off before wrapping up their season at the NSA Men’s Fastpitch World Series in early August.
