RICK McDONALD MEMORIAL FASTBALL LEAGUE
 
                                                                               SWICK HOUNDS OF GARSON GIVE THE NORTH STARS FIRST DEFEAT OF THE SEASON
 
                                                         It took into the third month of the 2011 season but finally a team picked up a victory over the previously undefeated 11 and 0 North Stars . The Hounds behind the fine pitching of Mat Behn (1-0) took an early 4-1 lead and held on for their third third victory of the season 9-6 .Behn went the distance for his first victory of the present campaign in only his second outing . He gave up just 5 hits , struck out 4 batters while issuing but 2 base on balls . John Ainslie(9-1) suffered his first defeat of the season , giving up 10 hits , fanning 3 batters and issuing 2 base on balls .League leading hitter Corey “Pooch” Farmer of the Hounds led all hitters going 3 for 4 (double ,3 runs ,2 rbi’s) at the dish with teammates Dan Quesnel and Bryan Welsh going 2 for 3 while Ben Bast went 2 for 2 in a losing cause for the North Stars .League play resumes on Wednesday night in Whitefish when the Swick Hounds are involved in both games facing the Pickerel River Cardinals at 7 PM then they take on the host Whitefish Lake First Nation Falcons at 9 PM under the lights . Team reps and players are reminded that the Brad Rienguertte / Shamou shoot out Northern Ontario 6th Annual Ladies and Men’s Fastball Championship is coming soon –its six weekends away , on August the 19th to the 21st .
                                                           You will find attached the team standings as of  July the 11th , the league leaders as of July the 10th and three photos from last night’s game (two action photo and the third one of the league’s top hitter Corey Farmer of the Hounds) .
