I'd like to personally thank a few people for running a great masters tournament this past weekend in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Special thanks to Ted Conway and all his volunteers on the host committee for doing a fantastic job. The new Peake Fields fastball complex

is spectacular and very clean, 4 actual fastball diamonds with fastball dimensions and 3 diamonds with lights and it's a pet friendly facility.

I'd also like to thank Bob Abbot and Paddy Fitzgerald Nolan from the OASA for running a great tournament.

Thanks to UIC Peter Kluszczynski and his blue crew who did a great job all weekend.  Sometimes we don't realize or show enough respect to these men for what they do, they don't get to sit down and rest every half inning like the players do or go and cool off in the shade and it was a scorcher in Bracebridge. Make sure you thank the umpires after each game !

 

I'm not sure why more teams don't come to the masters tournament, the newly created masters "B" division would be perfect for teams that go to the North Bay tournament on Labour Day weekend. There were no dominating teams or players in the "B" division. just recreational masters teams. The teams in the "A" division were a different story with the likes of Frank Cox, Jason Smith, Todd Uhrig and Tim Neill all pitching in this tournament.

 

Congratulations to Ted Conway and the Bracebridge Black Dog Farm for winning the OASA Masters "A" division.

Congratulations to North Bay Hopper and Bracebridge Bill's Pizza in the "B" division for playing some competitive games with great spirit and camaraderie, it was a pleasure playing against your teams.

 

Teams should start making plans now to attend the 2012 Masters "A" & "B" Divisions Championships which are being hosted in Bracebridge once again in 2012 on the same weekend.
