CAMPIONSHIP GAME

Hot, hot and hotter, every shade tree was standing room only, golf
umbrellas beyond the outfield fence, the only respite was the Tavistock
Grounds Crew watering the infield, and sending a bit of spray beyond
the stone dust.

Great weekend, hot, but lots of fun at the park, and lots of ball fans
happy with the play of the teams, the welcome they received from the
Tavistock crew, at the gate, the food booth, the beer tent, all weekend
long.

Dave Bailey thanked everyone involved, the volunteers, the umps, the
teams and especially the great ball fans who attended.

work at the minor level coaches...you may not get enough thank yous or
many tips of the old ball cap, but a lot of fans at Tavistock were sure

Coming up....

Game of the Week....

I did catch a few innings of the Breslau Badgers vs Sebringville Sting
game on Tuesday nite at Breslau Stadium. Looking at the South Perth
Standings you have to think that the Badgers would come out of
top...and they almost did, losing 4 - 3 to the Sting. Sebringville held
a 4 to zip lead til the 6th, when Breslau, again just like last week,
Ben Wideman and Brandon Horn knocked a few hits together and got the
Badgers rolling only to fall short.

Don Scott got the win, and Cody Skelton took a tough loss. Don Scott
was knocking the ball around the old ball yard when he was at bat

Looking ahead, the Sting are looking stronger, and this Sunday they are
up against the Wellington Sox who are top of the South Perth heap. I
hope to make it to Mitchell, double header, Sox vs Sting...1 and 3 pm.....

ALSO In Owen Sound..the iSC travel league weekend double headers with
Owen Sound, Jarvis, and Port Elgin teams at McLennan Park. This is the
site of the this years Softball Canada senior men's
