THE SWICK HOUNDS STRETCH THEIR UNBEATEN STREAK TO SIX

The regular season is fast coming to a close . There was only one game played on Monday night in Azilda . The red hot Swick Hounds of Garson have now put together a string of five wins and one tie and have not loss in three weeks .. This time out their victim was the Whitefish Falcons who fell 10-2 . The comeback veteran , Gary Lamothe (3-6) picked up his third straight victory giving up just five hits struck out 8 batters and issued but one base on balls . Troy Nootchtai (2-8) started for the Falcons and was tagged with the loss giving up to Andy Nootchtai (0-0) in the third frame .Both pitchers combined to give up 17 hits , fan two batters and issue two base on balls . Eric Legendre led the hitting parade for the Hounds with a 3 for 4 performance with teammates Dan Bidal 2 for 2 , Matt Behn 2 for 3 , Al Guenette and Todd Parsons 2 for 4 all helping the cause while Justin Soucy hit 1 for 3 (2 run homer) in a losing cause for the Falcons . The regular season ends with three games . The North Stars will be involved in all three encounters as they face the Falcons in a single match on Wednesday night in Whitefish Lake then in a doubleheader Thursday in Garson they will tangle with the Hounds at 7 PM followed by the final regular season game at 9 PM against the Pickerel Cardinals . All teams will then take a 10 day rest before the semis both best of 5 series get underway on Wednesday August the 10th in Whitefish . Teams are reminded that the 6th Annual Brad Rienguette “Shamou Shoot Out “ Northern Ontario Ladies and Men’s Fastball Championship is fast coming –23 days away .Lets make sure your entry is in before Friday August the 12th-all the information you need was in your last hand out or on Al’s Fastball news section .
