RICK McDONALD MEMORIAL FASTBALL FINALS SCHEDULE NOW SET
BEST OF FIVE FINALS PITTING THE PICKEREL RIVER CARDINALS VS THE SUDBURY NORTH STARS(DEFENDING 2010 CHAMPIONS)
The 2011 edition of the league’s best of five championship final is now set .Game one of the series will open up on Thursday August the 25th in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park ..Game time is 9 PM . On Wednesday August 31st its game 2 in Whitefish Lake same time .. Game 3 goes Thursday September the 1st in Garson at 9 PM . Should a game 4 be necessary , it will be held on Wednesday September the 8th in Whitefish same time . Finally if a 5th and deciding game is necessary it would be held on Thursday September the 8th in Garson same time . All of these games could be changed because of inclimate weather or unforeseen cancellations . ..
6th ANNUAL ALL STAR CLASSIC
NORTH SHORE SELECT ALL STARS VS THE RICK McDONALD MEMORIAL FASTBALL LEAGUE ALL STARS
In this sixth edition , Sudbury is the host team ..The game is tentatively set for Saturday September the 17th and will be played most appropriately at the Rick McDonald Memorial Park in Azilda . Because of a large number of players on each team it will be a 9 inning affair . Prior to the game , there will be some competitions such as fastest runner around the bases (home plate to home plate) , most accurate outfielder , fastest pitcher and best hitter (home run derby) . Just before the beginning of the game itself we will have the color guard parade followed by the ceremonial first pitch by a very special guest . Introduction of players donning their team uniform then they will put on a special t-shirt to begin the game . Following the game there will be awards for the earlier individual competitor events , MVP for both teams and finally a special banner to the champions . Both teams are then asked to meet at the Dog House afterwards .
YEAR END CELEBRATION
All team reps and players are asked to email me with suggestions of where we could hold a year end league celebration which should be not to long after the end of the league finals which could be the Friday September the 16th which is the day before the All Star game . Send me your suggestions .
4TH ANNUAL PARRY ISLAND FASTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEPTEMBER the 9th to the 11th
This most excellent tournament goes some 17 days from now in Parry Island .The entry fee is $400 . Its winner take all for the men’s open division where the winners collect a whopping $2000 while the runners up receive $1000,. We will also have this year a masters and ladies division if there is a sufficient number of teams . For the weekend a beer garden ,food vendor ,50/50 , raffle prizes , mvp’s for each game as well as the tournament MVP . There will be a beautiful banner for the champions and a plaque for the tournament MVP ..There will be a dance on Saturday evening . If you desire the flyer on the tournament please email me .
