Softball Canada Announces Roster for the 2011 Pan American Games

(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the seventeen (17) players who have been selected to represent their country at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 17-23, 2011.

The Canadian Team is coming off a bronze-medal performance at the US World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, and finished fourth at the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship in Surrey, BC last month. Last year, Canada won a bronze medal at the ISF XII Women`s World Championships, cementing their spot among the elite women`s softball teams in the world.

'2011 produced the best crop of national team hopefuls in some time' stated Senior Women's National Team Head Coach Mark Smith. 'We are extremely pleased with the work ethic shown by the group and their performances in each game over the course of the summer. We look forward to the Pan Am Games and the opportunity to compete against the countries who will be participating at that event.'
