Czech Republic:, Praha

Hi Al,
A little update from the European fastpitch scene:
National Champions:
Holland: Amstelveen DVH – Storks Den Haag 2-1 in games (4-2, 1-2 and 2-1). DVH repeated as dutch champions behind pitching ace Tony Moyo. The teams had a long wait for the deciding game, wich was postponed and moved twice because of rain. It was an exciting game, with Storks putting the tying run on second in the last inning, before DVH managed to get out of the inning an win take home the title.
Czech Republic: Spectrum Praha – Chomutov Beavers: 3-0 in games (7-0, 2-1 and 8-1). Playing in the 5th final in a row, Spectrum finally managed to take home the Czech championship against defending champs from Chomutov.  In a great display of team batting, the team from the capital breezed through the championship series. Only the second game was close, with the two other games being decided on the run-rule.
Denmark: Hørsholm Hurricanes – Amager Vikings: 2-1 in games (3-6, 7-5 and 9-1). Two very wellplayed games to start off the series – both being decided in the late innings. After an early ejection of Vikings pitcher Frank Pointon in the decider, the Hurricanes could easily take home their second Danish championship in a row. The Terkelsen brothers combined to hit four homeruns for the champions in the series.
Belgium: Chicaboo’s Stabroek - Brasschaat Braves: 3-2 in games (11-2, 8-7, 11-14,0-9, 5-1). In a thrilling 5 game series between longtime Antwerp rivals, Chicaboo’s regained the Belgium title. Braves battled well, recovering from a 0-2 defeceit, but in the end Chicaboo’s proved to be the stronger team. 2 of the games where won in extra innings.
