Durham College going for gold on Saturday
OSHAWA, Ont. – After earning two victories on Friday, the Durham College women’s fastball team has advanced to the gold medal game at the 2011 OCAA women’s fastball championship.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at Durham College. Their opponent will be determined in Saturday's first game between Humber and St. Clair. First pitch is at 10 a.m.
Your-SA president and former women’s fastball player Amy LaRue kicked off the championship festivities by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
Once the games began, the Lords earned a 2-0 win over Humber in the opening round and followed that up with a 9-3 victory against St. Clair to advance to the finals.
