The International Softball Congress is now accepting applications from interested parties for its Executive Director position. Job description below.
 
The Executive Director of the ISC is the face and voice of the organization, which is the leading governing body for men’s fastpitch softball in North America. As the general manager of the ISC, the successful candidate will run the day-to-day business operations and liaise with various other elected and appointed ISC officials. A training period working with the current Executive Director will be provided.
 
Candidates should possess strong leadership and organizational skills, top-notch communication skills, have the ability to generate contacts among potential sponsors and hosts, have a strong entrepreneurial sense to develop new revenue streams and should be familiar with the game of men’s fastpitch softball.
 
Previous experience in either leading or direct involvement with an amateur sports organization would be a key asset.
 
A small amount of travel is involved as the Executive Director will be involved in meeting with potential hosts for the annual ISC World Tournament and conducting site inspections as well as attendance at the World Tournament and other events as deemed necessary.
 
Compensation will be discussed with serious candidates only.
 
Executive Director
The Executive Director shall be appointed by the Board of Directors for a term of five years subject to an annual review and evaluation by the Executive Committee. The Board of Directors will also have the power of removal for cause, i.e. inability to function, misappropriation of funds, etc. The Executive Director shall not hold a commissionership nor have a vote. The Executive Director shall be responsible for the official day-to-day business of the International Softball Congress with the assistance of the Executive Committee as needed. The Executive Director shall serve as the General Manager of all ISC operations, maintain the corporate and business office of the ISC, coordinate publication of the annual yearbook and guide of the ISC and, with the concurrence of the elected Vice Presidents, appoint Regional Commissioners, At-Large Commissioners, and Specialists. The Executive Director shall appoint an Umpire-in-Chief and make all other decisions with the concurrence of the Executive Committee.
