MAJOR FASTBALL TOURNAMENT COMING TO GREATER SUDBURY
There will be a major announcement within the next couple of weeks of a major fastball tournament having been awarded and coming to Greater Sudbury .At the moment all I can tell you that this will be the finest top 8 provincial teams of young men between the ages of 23 and 35 invading our great city for three days in August of 2012 . It will be the top 7 selected teams plus our local selected 8th team . The winner will represent Ontario at the 2013 Canadian Championships in Halifax Nova Scotia .That winner may very well be our Sudbury representatives . At the moment the well known Frank Cox just two years removed from Team Canada is about 85% to 90% committed to be one of Sudbury’s pitcher .This most excellent tournament has not been held in our area for more than 30 to 35 years going back to the late 70’s or early 80’s .You are about to witness some fastball you’ve haven’t seen in this area since the days of Ezzio Bevelaqua , Gunther Smyth ,Gerry Gauthier ,Hall of famer Metro Szeryk , Booker Thomas , Jim Cappodocia ,Brad Rienguette to name just a few . You are in for a treat . All games will be held at Terry Fox in a double knockout format . Other important events will be surrounding this tournament . I’ve given you a small taste and now you will have to await the final announcement within the next 15 days .At that time all the final details as well as the co-cooperate sponsors and the committee will be announced ..
