Softball Canada Junior Championship Returns To Owen Sound
The Owen Sound Fastpitch Organization has won the bid to host the 2012 Canadian Junior Men's Fastball Championship Tournament.
The National Junior Championship Tournament, now for players under age 21, will be hosted at Duncan McLellan Park in August.
In previous years, the Junior category included players under age 23.
This will be the 3rd time that Softball Canada's Junior Men's tournament has been held in Owen Sound in the past 5 years.
The National Junior Tournament was staged in Owen Sound previously in 2008 & 2009.
The Owen Sound Fastpitch Organization also staged the Canadian Men's Championship last August at Duncan McLellan Park
The winning bid, reportedly, beat out another bid from another Owen Sound based operation for the 2012 hosting rights
The potential exists that the tournament could also be staged in Owen Sound again in 2013, but it's unclear as to which bidding group from the city would be the host in such a case.
The 2012 Canadian Junior Men's Championship Tournament will be staged in early August at Duncan McLellan Park.
