The 2012 Midland ISC World Tournament Host Committee would like to
announce plans for this year's developmental tournament. After
off-season discussions with the ISC, coaches, and friends of the
sport, it has been decided to change the age limit of the 2012 ISC
Developmental Tournament from Under-19 to Under-21. This shift in the
age limit will provide an opportunity for strong competition among
developing players and teams, while avoiding conflicts for high school
aged players in mid-August. In addition, this change will align with
the new junior level age limit being introduced by Softball Canada
starting in 2012.

The 2012 ISC U21 World Championship is scheduled for Thursday, August
16th through Saturday, August 18th. It will be played in both Emerson
Park and Red Coats Softball Complex. As in 2010, all teams that
participate in a qualifying event will be offered a bid for the ISC
Under-21 World Championship in Midland. In addition, teams not able
to play in a qualifier may self nominate through a request to the host
committee. At a minimum, requests should include the following: team
name and hometown, a 1-paragraph team biography, and a preliminary
roster.

The Midland Explorer Booster club would also like the announce the
formation of the Midland Junior Explorers starting in 2012. The
Junior Explorers will be comprised of young players from local teams
who will come together for a select number of tournaments throughout
the season. The Junior Exporers will be the host team for the Under-21
championship and would like to welcome competing teams to Midland next
August. More exciting details for the Junior Explorers will be shared
in a separate announcement.

Dates: Thursday, Aug 16th - Saturday, Aug 18th
Location: Emerson Park (including a dedicated main field), Red Coats
Softball Complex
Format: round robin with single elimination playoffs, 4 game guarentee
Entry fee: $300 USD
Age limit: birthdate no earlier than Dec 31, 1990
Limitations: players on ISC World Tournament rosters may compete in
the U21 only after their WT team is eliminated
