Durham College fastball assistant coach selected to lead team Canada
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – Longtime Durham College women’s fastball assistant coach Rosemary Theriault has been selected to the position of co-coach of the Canadian Women’s Open Softball team at the 19th Maccabiah Games.
 
The event will take place in Israel from July 17, 2013 to July 31, 2013.

The Maccabiah Games are quadrennial Jewish Olympics, held in Israel the year following the Olympic Games. Every four years, the best Jewish athletes from around the world compete in Open, Masters, Juniors, and Disabled competitions.

The Games are one of the top three gatherings of athletes in the world. Over 7,000 athletes proudly represent over 55 countries and compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in their respective sports. 

Theriault will be entering her 10th season with the Durham College women’s fastball program in 2012. She has been nearly all things to all people, as she brings a positive impact to the team on the field and off. 

She can be looked to for many things including on-field instruction, leadership and team fundraising. In the spring of 2004, Theriault was inducted into the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame for her longtime contributions to Fastball and Ringette in the province. 

In her time with the Lords, the team has won nine consecutive OCAA medals including six provincial titles. The team has also won back-to-back national bronze medals in 2011 and 2012.

A true champion in every sense of the word, the team’s she coaches always look forward to her enthusiasm, knowledge and contribution to their success..
