The 19th World Maccabiah Games are now less than 15 months away. In July 2013, Maccabi USA will send two men's fastpitch softball teams (Open and Masters (35+)) to Israel, as part of a US delegation that is expected to exceed 1,000 athletes. The Maccabiah is the third largest international sporting event in the world. More than 60 countries are expected to participate. Imagine yourself wearing a USA jersey and playing ball in Israel against the best Jewish softball players from Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Panama and Israel! Preparations are already underway. Our coaches have been selected. Now they need to choose the best Jewish fastpitch players in America to represent the USA. There's only one way to make this team, and that's to try out. There will be two tryouts. Please choose the one that is most convenient for you, and mark your calendar now! West Coast Tryout Date: Sunday, June 10, 2012 Time: 3:00-5:30 PM Field: Hjelte Park, 16200 Burbank Boulevard, Encino, CA 91436East Coast Tryout Date: Sunday, July 1, 2012 Time: 12:00-2:30 PM Field: Silver Lake Field, 1 Casarella Way, West Harrison, NY (Westchester County) 10604 (corner of Harrison Blvd. and Grant Street) Important Requirements All prospective participants must complete and submit an application to the Maccabi USA team prior to participating in the tryouts. You may bring the executed waiver with you to the tryout. Additional Information Teams are expected to be named shortly after the East Coast Tryout. Each team is expected to be comprised of 15 roster players and 10 alternates (50 total). We have never gone to Israel with a team that did not include a significant number of alternates, so all are encouraged to try out and stay involved with the Maccabi USA softball program.
