along with a few more U18 teams...

NIAGARA FALLS ISC Qualifier.

I couldn't make Niagara Falls for the ISC Qualifier, nor the Walenda
Walk...but the results on Al's Fastpitch and the reports from Blair
Setford were interesting...wished I could have been there.

Scarborough Force continue to show that they are a "force" to be
reckoned with in Ontario fastball piling up another tournament win at
the Qualifier at Ker Park. The Force forced the "if" game on Sunday
with a 10 - 3 win over the Niagara Snappers, and completed the dailey
double beating the Snappers 4 - 3 in the final...

Tyson Barkman went 7 for the Force in the final..allowing 3 runs on 7
hits and 8 Ks,allowing 2 walks. Andy Skelton 4 RBIs on 2
homers...Andrew Phibbs took the loss for Niagara...also going 7,
allowing 8 hits, 6 Ks and 3 walks...

The Force opened with a 4 - 3 win over Waterdown, Andy Skelton the
winner, Tim Neil (LP).. the Force went into the 7th down 3 - 0 got 4
runs for the win...Nick Dambrosio a 2 run walk off homer to seal the
deal...

Donnacona Blue Sox went 5 inninngs losing 13 - 0 to the Force..

Scarborough defeated Shakespeare 5 - 2 with Andy Skelton on the rubber
for 4 innings...allowing the Falcons 2 runs on 2 hits and 7 Ks..5
walks..Tyson Barkman went 3 innings..0 runs 0 hits 4 ks and 1 walk..

Fred Follings started for Shakespeare went 5 innings, 3 runs, 5 hits, 7
ks....0 walks
Jeff Murphy went 2 for the Falcons...allowing 2 unearned runs...0 hits
and 2 Ks..

The Niagara Snappers dropped the Force with a 7 inning 3 hit game by
Andrew Phibbs, Phibbs got 8 Ks and allowed only 1 walk for the Snappers
win...Adam Dearborn went 2 for 3, Trevor Falk went 3 for 3, including 2
homers and 5 RBIs..

That loss dropped the Force to the left side of the bracket and a
meeting with Elmira..

Andy Skelton got that win for Scarborough....7 innings, 5 hits,
allowing 2 runs...a Travis Martin homer...

Dan Martin allowed 5 runs over 1 1/3 innings...3 of them earned..Casey
Halstead went 5 2/3 giving up 6 hits and 1 run....Frank Lang, Jake
Taylor, Nick Dambrosio and Craig Buttar all went 2 - 4 for the
Force....and a rematch with the Snappers, a must win game to force the
.........."if" game...

-----

Andy Skelton on the rubber, Ian Wallwork for the Snappers...

Skelton went 5 allowing 3 runs off 6 hits...Wallwork 2 2/3 allowing 8
runs on 8 hits...before giving way to Perry Bartley who gave up 2runs on
5 hits...

The Snappers opened with 3 runs...Trevor Falk 2 RBI homer and Mike
Bateman a homer..

But the Force responded with 10 of their own...5 RBIs credited to Craig
Buttar, AndySkelton a homer as well..forcing the "if" game and leading
to the Scarborough win...

the rest of thKW area teams results..

Niagara Snappers 6 - 0 over the Outlaws
and a win for the Outlaws 2 - 0 over Donnacona
followed by an Outlaw loss to Alvinston...12 - 3

Elmira Expos 5 - 2 over Alvinston,
Expos 11 - 1 over Oshweken
and an Expo loss 6 - 1 by the Snappers
followed by a win 9 - 2 over Perry Island
and another win over Alvinston...this time 5 - 0

Hickson Reds lost 5 - 3 to Donnacona Blue Sox
and to Waterdown 9 - 2

Shakespeare Falcons 11 - 6 over Wyevale
and Falcons 10 - 0 over Cree Nation
and a loss to Alvinston...4 - 1

Alvinston picked up a win...2 - 1 over the Toronto Gators
the Gators also lost the opener to Oshweken 1 - 0

It sure sounded like a great tournament on Ball Park Radio...and the
results were outstanding for Scarborough and Niagara. Expos looked
strong in Blair Setford's updates.
